Shinichiro Nagasawa is a photographer who explores events embedded within the landscape.
Moving between portraiture and landscape, his work examines places shaped by events such as colonization, war, militarization, and forced displacement. Rather than directly documenting events, he reconsiders the relationship between events and landscape by visualizing traces hidden within everyday scenery.
Nagasawa’s long-term projects have centered on the Ogasawara Islands. Through events such as settlement, occupation, reversion, and nuclear deployment layered within these islands, he explores how landscapes come to embody geopolitical memory.

ポートレートと風景を往復しながら、植民地化、戦争、軍事、強制移住といった出来事によって形づくられた場所を考察している。 直接的に出来事を記録するのではなく、日常の風景の中に潜む痕跡を可視化することによって、出来事と風景の関係を問い直している。
長沢の長期プロジェクトは、小笠原諸島を中心に展開されてきた。この場所に重なり合う開拓、占領、返還、そして核配備といった出来事を通して、風景がどのように地政学的な記憶を内包しているのかを探っている。
